This cache has been archived.

Chuck Walla: Greetings from Geocaching.com!

Since you have not responded to my reviewer log about your cache, the cache has been archived.

Some time ago, I posted a note to your cache page requesting a response from you to post what you were planning to do with the cache on the page and to send me a note. I have no record of a response, and no response tells me that you are not planning on replacing or repairing this cache. If I am wrong with that assumption, please let me know promptly. I can always unarchive the cache for you if needed.

Sincerely,

Chuck Walla

WARNING: Spoiler Photo. Don't click this link unless you want to see how the cache is hidden.

Long Description

(Cache coordinates represent 38 minutes of WAAS averaging.)

[Upgrades: The park is getting a major upgrade! All the old playground equipment is out and new playground equipment is coming in! The tennis court and T-ball field is very much usable. Watch here for details and new photos.]

Located in a city park, the last 20 feet to the cache is difficult. This cache is not accessible by bike or stroller though a bike or stroller can be used to get very close. An able-bodied adult is required to help children to the cache (my 7 year-old needed my help). It would not be a good idea to attempt this cache after a heavy rain. Please be careful!

The cache container is an ammo box with an official Geocaching label. This cache includes a reusable camera so please take your picture and replace so I can post your photo. The cache also includes an official Geocaching log book and a few other fun items.

As in any city park, the city maintains the park and tries to keep the park free of litter. And as in any city park, the park can use our help. This is especially true right in the vicinity of the cache. In the cache box will be a garbage bag (most of the time). If you have the time, we appreciate your help keeping this park clean.

So why call this cache Butler's Booty? This cache is located in Little Rock's Butler Park; that's the first part of the name. The second part is in jest and refers to what we believe pirates call their cache. In today's context it makes for a funny name.

The park is dedicated in memory of Colburn Butler. I haven't quite found out yet who he was but I do know he was related to Richard Colburn Butler, Senior, the man who donated the money for the park. Richard Butler, Senior was a prominent man in Little Rock who passed away in 1999. From the information I've read so far, I'm guessing Colburn Butler was Richard Colburn Butler, Senior's grandfather (or an earlier generation).

Here are some related link's to information about Richard Colburn Butler, Sr.
