Geocache Description:

The caches is located at the south end of Keawa`ula Bay on the beautiful Wai`anae Coast. A short walk on the sand will take you there.

This is the third of a series of caches that I'm calling the "PEANUT BUTTER" series because the coastal ones will all be in small peanut butter jars. I want to lure people out to the Leeward side of O`ahu, to me the most beautiful side of the island. A few will be in “lush” Wai`anae Valley. Yes “lush” Wai`anae! The very back of the valley is a “rain forest” and not a desert, it is also owned by the State of Hawaii. There are a number of trails that to the average hiker on O`ahu are unknown. I hope to change the view of Wai`anae in the minds of those that have never been here or have spent little time on the coast.

The water was beautiful the day I placed the cache. Snorkling would be great on a calm day. Beware of the ocean, never turn your back on her. You will have to scramper a little on the lava rocks. Be careful coming down from the road to the cache. Do Not climb down where the GPS is pointing. Drive inside the park gate and park your car there.

People keep mentioning that difficulty should be higher!

So I've jacked it up because during the winter the sand along the shore is washed away and access is no l0nger easy . BE CAREFUL of big waves during the winter months.
