Geocache Description:

easy flat, with a few areas of tall grass. Easy for all ages to enjoy.

This area is close, with in a few hundred yards of where the Lewis and Clark Party camped out on their return trip from the Pacific Ocean on April 30, 1806. After Traveling through a series of sand dunes they came upon a bold creek, about 10 yards wide. William Clark also carved his name in a cottonwood tree on this river bottom, that was still visible 80 years ago. Which is now long gone.
