Geocache Description:

A Letterbox in a park with a great deal of features and history.

This is a really cool park that we discovered while searching for
the “Bridge Over Troubled Water” cache GC7644.

This is one of our favorite discoveries from geocaching so we wanted to see if we
could contribute something additional in this area. There are already some letterboxes in the park but we thought it would be a good idea to set up a hybrid letterbox cache near the train tunnel.

There are a number of trails by the river, or up the hills for great views, a suspension bridge for pedestrians, a rail road tunnel and majestic pine trees. A lot of Wildlife can potentially be seen here- We spotted turkeys, deer, a martin or ferret type
critter.

In addition to the New England historic feature of this park there is also a feeling that the area may be haunted. The Park is a Ghost Town in some respects. There was a huge resort here at one time with alot of activity. Now completely vanished with just
remnants as reminders. Sure enough we caught a picture with Katie observing some Orbs. Decide for yourself.

The terrain rating can be a 2.5 or a 1.5 depending on where you want to park. From the gate at the east side of the river the walk is about a mile. If the gate is open you may elect to drive within a few hundred feet of the cache. There are a number of places to park depending on your preference. If you are not averse to driving down narrow bumpy dirt
roads you can drive closer to the letterbox-cache.

NOTE – SATELITE RECEPTION IS USUALLY POOR IN THIS AREA-. DON'T BE AVERSE TO USING THE CLUE
