miguaine: Bonjour,

Merci de me contacter si cette cache peut être réactivée. En attendant, elle est archivée pour permettre éventuellement à un autre géocacheur d'en placer une dans le secteur.

Geocache Description:

St. Montan is near Bourg de St. Andeol in Southern France. The cache is near a trail leading from the small town up to the medieval castle at the top of a hill.

Go North through the city to reach the path that the cache is located on. Just before you leave the northern edge of the town, there is a path on your right leading up to the castle. If you go through a stone arch with a sign reading "Porte de Clastre", you are on the right path. Follow the path to the cache spot. The cache is 1.5 meters off the trail. If you reach the sign that reads "Galerie Terre et Feu" you have gone too far. NOTE: FOLLOW THE TRAIL UP THE HILL AFTER YOU HAVE FOUND THE CACHE AND CONTINUE DOWN TO YOUR RIGHT THROUGH THE WINDY COBBLESTONE STREET TO GET TO THE HEART OF THE CITY. THERE IS A LOCAL WOMAN WHO OWNS A SMALL WINERY AND HAS A STORE ON YOUR WAY DOWN THE COBBLE STREET. STOP BY FOR A FREE TASTE OF EXCELLENT WINE. (AND EVEN TAKE SOME HOME.)

Contains a few items from the local area. It is inside of an old pickle jar. The "Limit" travel bug was included in the cache.

Note: This cache is not inside the castle, or on or inside any archeological or historical structures. It is simply on the public trail 100 or so feet from the road.

Small note on cache maintenance: There is a local person who is able to reach the cache spot within 5 minutes of leaving their home. I was with them when I planted the cache in France. They have been told that I will E-Mail them in case of any problems with the cache.
