Blackthorn Memorial just south of the Sunshine Skyway, great views of the sunset and a place for reflection.
In the evening hours of 28 January 1980, Blackthorn collided with the tanker, Capricorn, resulting in death of twenty-three servicemen, and to this day remains the worst peacetime loss of life in Coast Guard history.
Optional or in case the cache gets muggled again since it is in a high muggle area.
For credit, please send me the answer to this question. Finish this sentence from the bronze plaque at the base of the memorial: "In memory of the crewmen lost in collision with the tanker Capricorn __________ __________ ________".

There is a micro log, but you need to bring your own pen to sign it. Be wary of geomuggles since this is a high traffic area. Please let me know when the log gets filled and I will replace it, thanks!
I tried to make this one a Virtual but didn't know about the moratorium on these and wasn't allowed to do so, I wanted it to be placed on the anniversary date but couldn't get it approved. So I placed a micro on it later and then set the date back to reflect the 25th anniversary.
This is a high muggle area, so please use your best stealh skills, If the cache is missing, please get the answer to the question and send it to me via the messaging system (do not post it in the log) and I will still count it as a find.
If the log is full, please feel free to replace it if you are able to do so. This is in kind of a remote location, and I don't get by here as often as I have in the past, but being a great cache location, memorial and one of my first caches I don't want to archive it. Please help if you can to keep this one going.
