While looking for this cache, do be sure to stop and admire the view of the American River from this quiet, serene, secluded spot.
One year ago this month, my girlfriend Dione and I (now my fiancée) found our first cache. We decided to honor the occasion by hiding our first cache together. (Her first hide, my third.)
When hidden, cache contained:
A quarter (FTF prize)
- An old Garth Brooks tape ("No Fences")
- A DSL filter
- a small flashlight (works)
- a pocket radio with batteries (ditto)
- a Hedo Turkoglu basketball card
- a John McCain 2000 campaign button
And, of course, logbook and pencil.
Round tupperware-type container.
CAUTION: Hill in this area is quite slippery, and it's a bit of a hike from the parking areas. Perhaps you should bike in, or bring good walking shoes.
NOTE: Park has a $5 vehicle entrance fee. The park needs the money, but if that's an issue you can park outside the gate--it's only a few hundred feet further.
