Warning! The cache is hidden
at the bottom of a 10 meters high crack, you must not descend
from the waypoint so you will amuse yourself finding a secure,
but rather hard, approach to the geocache.
"Les Escletxes del Papiol"
are a unique place of maritime facies of coral and seaweeds fossils
around Barcelona area. These rock formations includes many
accessible cracks, your task is find the best way to find your
treasure.
The facies are in Papiol, where you
can:
- Use public transport arriving to Papiol train station of
RENFE and then take a 1,7 Km hike to the "Les Escletxes".
- Parking at 41º26.251'N 2º01.126'E.
Once you are there go to the top of
the Escletxes to know the horizotal location of the geocache and
then find a secure approach for arriving down there, if you have a
partner he will be able to give you indications from the top of the
"Escletxes" because you can't get enough sat's signals for you GPSR
down there.
If it's not a sunny day or the Sun
is rising you will need a small flashligh only at the end of the
route (geocache place).
I know three secure but rather hard
entries:
- Entry A: First of all, you have to drag through a hole in the
rocks.
- Entry B: It's the shortest way to reach the cache, but you have
to pass trough a very narrow crack between walls of rocks on the
right (Actually I needed to be on a simple diet without french
fries during 11 days with the aim of pass trough there successfully
;)).
- Entry C: I'ts very easy but is the largest way so you can
disorientate easily.
Be careful and have fun!
