Just above this microcache is a Grumman F9F Panther Jet. Manufactured from 1948-53, It was the first carrier based jet used by the Navy and Marine Corps. It was also the first jet flown by the Blue Angels
If you wander 400 ft east you will see a D model AH-1 Cobra helicopter gunship. This beautifully and accurately restored memorial, complete with chain gun and rocket pods, saw most of its action during the Vietnam conflict. There is also an M60 series tank ( not sure of the model). From this vantage point there is a very nice view of downtown Jville
