Geocache Description:

We suggest parking in the castle car park which is located behind the castle itself. [N55'28.453 W002'33.578]

Parts of this walk can be very muddy depending on the weather so stout shoes or wellingtons are recommended. From the Castle Gaol and Museum car park (which was built in 1823 on the the site of the old castle, to a design conforming to the principles of the noted reformer John Howard) cross the road to a partially obscured gateway with two iron gates. Pass through the gates and walk along the path which runs down to the quaintly named Skip Running Burn. Cross the footbridge onto the opposite bank and follow the path which goes off to the left. This will take you on a nice walk through a little glen that runs along the bottom of Glenburn Hall. The cache is hidden along this route which is particularly picturesque during the summer months.
