Geocache Description:

The cache is located beside the Pocklington Canal, this is part of Pocklington Canal Multi-cache but can be done on it's own as a regular cache.

This is the site of a possible Timber Castle which records show as being destroyed in 1149 although there was mention of it exsisting until 1178. All that remains to be seen is the earthworks and below it runs the Pocklington Canal.

There is no parking available nearby and it is suggested that you take a walk from the nearby cache at East Cottingwith which is approx a mile away along the canal.

Please remember that water can be dangerous for young children and keep an eye on them at all times!!

This cache contains a clue to the Pocklington Canal Multi-cache, other clues may be found at the following caches :-
