Geocache Description:

A replacement cache at Silver Run Falls, hopefully less prone to being carried off by high water; this is a true letterbox so bring your stamp

Park at the parking coordinates (the pull-off on NC 107) and take the main trail down to the manmade bridge and then continue to the base of the waterfall. Take pictures or have a swim. Once you are done visiting Silver Run Falls continue back along the path towards the parking lot in order to find the cache.

Remember that the following instructions assume you are on the waterfall side of the manmade bridge. To get to the cache heed these words: Just before you cross the manmade bridge go right and follow a "trail" along the edge of the stream. Keep going until you see a "border" sign. There should be a downed tree. Search the rootball for a Lock&Lock container. Or if your way is blocked by a downed tree, follow a path a little higher and then come back down as soon as possible. If you see a "border" sign, follow the above instructions.

If you have the time after finding the cache take the trail to the top of the waterfall for a great view! The area around the base and at the top of the waterfall can be dangerous at all times. Please monitor the activities of children at all times!

This cache pays homage to the Silver Run Falls cache by Scanogram which was archived. That cache was the second found by my children and I -- we had a blast! Hope you enjoy the area too!!
