Welcome to the Huron-Clinton Metroparks 2005 Geocaching Adventure. This year’s adventure is similar to last year’s game and is designed to introduce you to each of our thirteen parks as it takes you to places less traveled.
Participants completing this year’s adventure by turning in a completed score card will be entered into a drawing for one of twenty 2006 Metropark Vehicle Permits. Winners will receive a permit in early January 2006. Score cards can be turned in to any of our park offices by January 1, 2006. Caches for this year’s game will be pulled on this date.
New this year, a puzzle was created for added entertainment. Game pieces have been placed in each of the caches. Collect the thirteen pieces, assemble the puzzle and keep it as a souvenir from this year’s adventure.
A second puzzle can be found in the Metroparks Geocaching Brochure. Brochures can be downloaded from our website, found in any of our park offices and will also be located in each of the caches that are part of this game. Complete this puzzle and you will have the location for this year’s picnic / geocaching event to be held on Saturday, September 10 at 11 am. To complete this puzzle you will need to look for a second set of coordinates located in each cache container. Plug the coordinates into your GPS unit and look for a 1 ½ inch diameter gold coin. The coin will provide you with information to fill in the missing coordinates to the puzzle.
Most caches and coins have been located in dog friendly areas except for the following:
The coin located at Kensington
The coin located at Oakwoods
The cache located at Indian Springs
The cache and coin located at Lower Huron
The cache and coin located at Metro Beach
The zip codes listed below will assist you in finding the other twelve caches that are a part of this METROPARKS GEOCACHING ADVENTURE and others located in our parks. Start in any park of your choosing.
