The Rock Pool at Dunseverick Harbour near the Giants
Causeway. 
The Rock Pool is a naturally formed sea pool which has been used by
many generations for swimming in. Visit on a warm summer's day and
enjoy the views.You may even see this local resident!
From Bushmills village take the A2 road signposted Giants Causeway.
Travel along this road for 1 mile and take left onto Causeway Road.
You will pass the entrance to the Giants Causeway visitor centre on
your left. In a further three miles you will pass the remains of
the ancient Dunseverick castle. Take a left turn down the narrow
road signposted Dunseverick harbour. Park in the small harbour car
park.
Uninhabited and sheltered amongst basalt islets, the rugged beauty
of Dunseverick Harbour captures all that is synonymous with the
North Antrim Coast. The tiny harbour is also where many local
people began their long emigration during the 1800's to Australia,
New Zealand or the Americas.
The cache is hidden in a small tab lock box and is within sight of
'The Rock Pool'. It is easiest accessed by going down the stepped
path from the road.
While visiting Dunseverick you may also wish to take the short,
scenic walk of about one mile, from the harbour to Portbradden and
Whitepark Bay along a winding path that hugs the cliff and
shoreline. It's one of the nicest and best short walks that the
entire North Antrim Coast has to offer! Before reaching Portbradden
you'll pass another geocache - "End of the Rainbow" alongside this
same path.
The second, and arguably more demanding, challenge with The Rock
Pool cache site is to spot the seal. If you see him, please log
your find or better still, post a photo of him with your
log.
