Island or Peninsula? Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
In short, sometimes it is an island, sometimes it is a peninsula. It all depends on the water level. As of the date placement, it was an island. Either bring your waders or be prepared to get your feet wet. (There is a balancing method that may get you there without wet feet, but again it depends on the water level.) Careful of young muggles swimming during the summer. The cache itself is about 15 feet from the main path on the island.
This cache is located on an island in the Mill Pond Reservoir. For about half of the year it is a peninsula. Springtime into early summer it is an island. No boats, canoes or kayaks are allowed in the reservoir. No swimming either. If you find the part that connects it when water is low, you will also find a steppingstone path, if the water is not too high.
After finding the cache, check out the point, which is at N 42 30.765 W071 10.519. Final thing is there are many places to park around the reservoir; let me know where you picked in an email if you don’t mind. And please be respectful of private property.
