A nice easy stroll along Little Sewickley Creek in Walker Park. You may get a little muddy, and if kids visit, they'll want to get wet! The cache is a Lock & Lock, hidden near a trail, so please cover it up exactly as you found it.
Old time geocachers (we're talking early 2002, ancient history) will recall a cache that was in this park for five months or so, called Trout Fishing in America, by the Queen and King of the tiny unknown parks, Tangent and the Geopoet. It was the fourth cache The Leprechauns ever searched for, and our first DNF. We learned so much from that experience:
-- How to search an area *very* thoroughly.
-- How to "think like a hider."
-- How to have fun in a nice place, even if you don't find the cache.
Each time we pass this park, we think of the hours we spent searching it inch by inch for a cache that was no longer there -- instead, we found snakes, and splashes, and tranquility. Finally, we decided to hide a cache of our own here, to commemorate the fact that we caught nothing at "Trout Fishing in America." This cache is dedicated to Tangent and the Geopoet, as it was their caches in the North Hills that first got us hooked on caching. Their surviving hides remain great "beginner caches" to this day.
We've never seen trout, or any other fish, in Little Sewickley Creek, but it's a very nice little stream when it's not flooding. Just park at the picnic pavilion and stroll down the trail along the stream. You don't need to cross the stream... unless you feel like it! We hope you have as much fun FINDING a cache in this park as we had NOT FINDING a cache in this park!
