Geocache Description:

Take a leisurely stroll along the dikes of the South Alouette River and enjoy a great view of Golden Ears Mountain

The South Alouette River meanders through the heart of the Pitt Polder area. This is prime blueberry and cranberry land, and during the summer months noise cannons blast regularly to scare birds away from the crops.
The river supports Chum and Coho salmon, as well as Steelhead and Cutthroat trout. Birds like Common Mergansers, Widgeons, Bufflehead and American Dippers all enjoy the slow moving waters. Great Blue Herons find the shallow water perfect for feeding, and the Pitt Polder has one of the few Heron rookeries left. Bald Eagles are plentiful during the salmon season. Beaver have also made their presence known as evidenced by the many trees felled at the river’s edge.
The cache is a 1L camo container. You'll need to keep trade items on the small side.
