Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the Thomas Creek Trail. The trail was competed as an Eagle Scout Leadership project on June 26, 2004. The final phase of the trail construction was the eleventh Eagle Scout project on this trail.

The final phase of the Thomas Creek trail was an Eagle Scout project that completed the remaining 2,700 feet of trail. This entire trail will have been completely built by volunteer labor in conjunction with the Truckee Meadow Trails Association and the Washoe County Parks Service.

There are two primary entrances to the trail. If you want to hike down the trail you can park at N 39° 23.614, W 119° 50.299. The hike will be an easy 1.5 miles one way. If you want you can also enter the trail from the East at N 39° 24.278, W 119° 48.113. This is a relatively gentile up-hill hike of just over a mile. You can also take two cars and drop one off at one of the entrances.

The cache is the typical ammo can and should not be all that difficult to find. The trail will take you to within about 15 feet.

The theme of the cache is scouting. Currently all of the items in the cache relate to Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts, but feel free to trade any scouting related items. There are some neat patches and other scouting related items.
