Overlooking Maricopa, not far from highway 166
From the cache, look down towards Maricopa. On your left is the kitty litter mine. A surprising amount of product is shiped out of here. One truck almost ran me over! Now I use this cut-off to avoid the switch-back. Behind you is a USGS siesmometer station, and to your right is hwy 166. If you don't want to risk the dirt road Please, PARK BEFORE (NOT AT) the Hair Pin Switch-Back! Trucks really hog the road there-if I hadn't slammed the brakes and grabbed a handfull of reverse, spinning tire madly backwards, I would have been crushed! He wasn't going to stop!
