Geocache Description:

This is a three-stage puzzle cache. It shouldn't be too hard, but you will need to get information at each stage in order to find the next stage, plus do a little math.

The given coordinates will take you to a WSSC benchmark. Very close to the benchmark is an engraved year. There is a lot of history attached to this place. See (visit link) for more information. You will need the 4-digit benchmark number and year in order to determine the second stage coordinates, as follows:

Benchmark 1 # abcd
Engraved year efgh
x = d - c
y = a + e

Stage 2 Coordinates: N39 0y.cxc W76 ax.yde

Stage 2 is also a WSSC benchmark with an engraved year nearby. You will need these two 4-digit numbers, plus the first set in order to find the final stage, as follows:

Benchmark 2 # ijkl
Engraved year mnop
z = p - i

Stage 3 Coordinates: N39 0j.gzg W76 ig.zci

Stage 3 is in a small neighborhood park. My son Wesley, age 8, and daughter Alisha, age 6, helped choose the hiding place for the final stage. The cache at the final stage is a small green container with playing cards, coins and other stuff to exchange.
