Geocache Description:

A nice hike along the Upper Canada Heritage Trail and Bruce Trail. Two stage multi.

The TICO series is brought to you by Team TICO, a group of Ontario Geocachers interested in preserving trading caches as part of our hobby. Team TICO feels that geocaches containing interesting and unique trading items are an important and enjoyable part of the whole Geocaching experience. Historically, the original caches were all trading caches. In order to maintain the quality of trade items in caches, we believe that people should leave items of equal or higher value to replace items taken whenever you make a trade. Otherwise the trading items are reduced to an accumulation of “junk” items of no interest to anyone – in essence a dead trading cache. Our motto’s are:

“TRADE UP, TRADE EVEN, TRADE OFTEN” and “HELP KEEP THIS CACHE TRASH FREE”.

Whenever you see our red and black logo on a cache, please remember what it stands for and respect the intentions of those who placed the cache.

Across York Rd you will find the start of the southern portion of the Upper Canada Heritage Trail at the base of an old railway overpass wall. The trail follows along the old New York railway line. Along the hike you will pass the remains of a lime brick kiln built upon the escarpment, well worth the visit if you have the time and the climbing ability.

Along the trail you will also see some of the original railway ties, You will pass a number of natural springs and other interesting views.
