The cache will be found by following a trail that can be wet and muddy in the beginning but will soon change to a steep dry trail.
Park at the Rondaxe Mtn. trailhead parking area. Follow the blue trail markers for about .6 miles. Turn right onto the dirt road and follow it for about .1 miles. (If you are clever you can shorten your approach!) You will see a trail on the left marked by blue trail markers. Proceed to the left off of the dirt road and onto the blue trail. The climb will begin shortly from there. Watch out for the mudd in the beginning!! Continue to climb until you reach the split in the trail. At this point, take the red trail to reach the cache. The cache is an ammo container. It is well hidden so that some searching will be required. The view from the lookout is really worth the hike. On a clear day, you can see Mt Colden and Mt Marcy way off in the distance. There is also a great view of Mountain Pond below and of part of the Fulton Chain. While you are there, stop and take in the vista. This a little visited but beautiful Adirondack spot!!
