Geocache Description:

Need to bring your own pencil.

A scenic walk overlooking the lake and stampede grounds.
Cache is micro which only contains a log, and a few very small items. Please re-hide well as this is a popular trail and view point.

William Pinchbeck first came to the Cariboo from England in 1860 to be the Chief Constable, hired to keep law and order as the impending Gold Rush gathered momentum.
He and two other partners later formed an alliance known as Pinchbeck & Co., and pre-empted the land of the present day Stampede grounds and city of Williams Lake, where they operated a ranch, roadhouse and store to supply the miners coming for the Gold Rush.
For more history of the Cariboo check out the Williams Lake Museum nearby. (visit link)
