Years ago and still to this day i walk this trail, once as a
child and now with my own children.
This pleasant, quite and peaceful walk will take you to some
fantastic views high above the Little Conemaugh River, the
Conemaugh/Blacklick Railroad and the (we call it the cuts where
were from) "slag" mines.
The view is best seen during the fall, winter and spring months.
There are still several gaps in the underbrush and dense tree tops
during the summer months to get a good view.
This view of the "VALLEY DOWN
BELOW" is the focal point of this cache.
To get to the parking area. Turn onto Echo Road at the Dairy
Queen in East Taylor Twp off of RT271. Follow Echo road all the way
to the bottom, then turn right on to Cambria Ave. Park off to the
side, in front of the dirt mound.
You will be looking for a large plastic container (Protein
Powder style) . I have placed this cache in an area that is
accessible to everybody. When you get to the general area of the
cache there is NO NEED to traverse down the hillside.
Trust your GPS and you will prevail.
Please re-hide the container better than you found it!
NOTE Please do not go down into the Slag
Mine Area down below.
ATV's sometimes use this trail also so please pay attention:
