GHAGAFAP IV - May The Fours Be With You
Golden Horseshoe Area Geocachers And Friends Annual Picnic

GHAGAFAP IV Synopsis
GHAGAFAP is done for another year!!!

A HUGE Thank you to everybody for making GHAGAFAP IV a big success!
  •
Registration:  Amazon Annie, Nozzletime The Blue Quasar, Capjap, Teacup.  The registration table ran without a hitch thanks to you guys!
  •
Cache Hiders:  Rogue Monkey, Team Night Cache (WannaRam, RubiJane and Splatman), Dex, Fizbot, 1701eh, The Rideau Rangers, Tomtec, The Blue Quasar.  What would a Geocaching picnic be without caches to hunt?!  Not just any old caches either... some of the most inventive, humorous, and devious caches GHAGAFAP has ever seen!
  •
Fun and Games:  Amazon Annie for the Ice Breaker game and the Memory Race.  Nozzletime for the projection event.  Buttons and Beaux for keeping the kids happy with games and fabulous prizes!  Keith Watson (aka Keith Watson) for providing the Bunny Bashing fun and Suzi Homemaker for the candy after the Bunny finally succumbed!
  •
OGA Booth:  Three cheers to the OGA group for participating again this year!
  •
Food and Drink:  Thanks to everybody that participated in the community food table!  An amazing variety of delicious appetizers, main courses, treats, drinks and deserts were eagerly gobbled up by the hungry cachers!  Thanks also for packing out any leftovers!
  •
Prizes:  After four years of GHAGAFAP, the prize table finally went fairly smoothly!  Hopefully, everyone came away happy, and with a fair trade!!  Thanks to everyone who contributed!  Also, congratulations to the winners of the door prizes!
  •
Camping:  To all the folks that decided to stay overnight (some for both Friday AND Saturday)...I hope you all had as good a time as I did!  Fantastic weather helped make the camp-stravaganza a big success!  Rogue Monkey's Saturday dinner, and Buttons and Beaux's Saturday breakfast made the campers very happy!  Thanks to the various "wood bearers" for bringing fuel for the campfires!
  •
Special Thanks to Buttons and Beaux.  Laura and Dave take it upon themselves to make sure that all the GHAGAFAP kids have plenty of fun, games, and prizes!  They also make sure that the campground is booked.  They also provide the P/A equipment.  They also help with the setup.  They're also there for the cleanup.  They also cook up a fantastic breakfast for the campers.  GHAGAFAP wouldn't be the same without them.  Thanks for all your help!
  •
Final Thanks:  To all my friends.  GHAGAFAP organisation presented some personal challenges this time around.  Without the support, encouragement, and assistance from my friends, it wouldn't have happened.  You know who you are and I thank you for being there.

Was very interesting. Nice to put a face to the names I see regularily. My very first geocaching event. Thanks for the good time.

  ADVILL
WOW, this was our third event we attended. Only the first time at GHAGAFAP and the first event with de kids. We all loved it and had a great time. Thanks TT and BQ, AA, L&T, N, B&B ect. We camped for two nights and that was great too. At the campground we really got to know some other cachers. Wow what a campers life: huge campfire, good food (thanks RM), caches, Tim Hortons coffee (thanks ?) and a excellent breakfast (thanks S (17), B&B)).
Yes ofcourse you will see us back next year again.
PS doesn't the alphabet start with an A!

  ADVILL
Whoops, forgot to thank Ellesche in my log, who found my unique sunglasses while we were doing the Poker Run and Fizbot's caches.
Thanks again Ellesche.

  Algonquin Bound
A wonderful time was had by all - even those of us who were late in arriving! Thanks to all involved in setting everything up and keeping it running. Special thanks to Larry and the whole TT crew for all of the advance work, which I know goes into such an event. The whole family gets involved, like it or not! The caches were all fabulous and the prizes were terrific, even though the order in which the letters were drawn was suspect! Sorry I didn't make it back for the campfire, but I was just too exhausted.

  Amazon Annie
Thanks to everyone for attending the event - it was a great success thanks to YOU. Thanks to those who pitched in: Buttons and Beaux for running another fabulous Kids Event and for collecting all those prizes on your own! (Maybe those with "A" in their names could get a chance next year at the kids table!)
Thanks to BQ and Teacup for jumping in and helping out at the registration table and to Nozzletime for handling the waypoint uploads - next year we'll have it perfected... right?
Thanks to those that put out the caches - Fizbot, 1701eh, TNC and Rogue Monkey and Team TNC (sorry, didn't mean to miss you guys, drat!) I heard about a few of them and got to help Fizbot collect his. Thanks to Keith Watson aka Keith Watson for bringing the Bunny Pinata - a few people got to take out their frustrations!
A BIG thanks to TT (and his patient wife and son) who is the mastermind behind the whole schmozzle. Thanks for allowing me to help out again this year. I hope thing work out well.

Thanks for those who camped over and provided great food and lots of fun running around in the dark chasing all sorts of interesting multi's from Tomtec and Dex. It was great to see some familiar faces and to meet all sorts of new people. I have tons of good memories and some great ideas for some future fun. (Warning I just met Dex in the hardware store and he's put out a new micro - someone must have inspired him, I know a few others had some ideas.)

  babrshpdru
The Fours were with us today, even if this was our first GHAGAFAP! I was here with Rayman and Urkel and it was good to see so many friends that I've met over the years of Canadian events! I can't thank you enough for putting this all together for all of us to enjoy. Greetings to all! and thanks for the prize! Dru

  beeper
Unfortunately my son became sick around lunch and we had to make a quick exit. Thanks TT, AA, BB, NS and all who put so much work into this, our 1st event. I'm sure my Magellen made me FARTHEST from the pin. Sorry we missed poker. Fizbot, really enjoyed your creativity. Thanks again to all. beeper.

  Boonie Kat
Big thanks to all involved in the GHAGAFAP event, well put together, enjoyed the night caching with the group, also the camping, and meeting all the new people, and seeing the old ones again.Everyone out did them selfs again this year. Thanks to B&B for the great breakfast, and Monkey for the speghetti dinner, also to Marywinkle for the great meatballs, mmmmmm.Thank you to the person who gave the gift of the sports waist bag,Micd took, but a few seconds, to empty the contents and said, now, you carry your own water, lol.Thank you to all involved.

  Boxer Crew
Our first event, and what a day! Organisers, you did an awesome job. When is the next one? Can we do it again next week??? Too tired to log the event yesterday and the dog is still asleep.
Great caches, even better people.
Cachers sure are a good bunch!

  Bud_AV
What a great time! Myself and sister Sarah enjoyed ourselves a lot. Great to see again some familar faces and meet some of the other names from GC.com . Congratz to TT and everyone else involved, looking forward to next year!

  Buttons and Beaux
Another great event. Thanks TT for all your hard work and for all those that helped. The GHAGAFAP has become a weekend event for Beaux and I and after last years event we didn't think it was possible to get any better but it did. After setting up camp in the rain the weather just got better. The Friday and Saturday night caching was great. Spagetti dinner Saturday was excellent, even got a hamburger. Only managed a few caches during the event but I would have read 1701EH rules and followed them not like my other half. It was great seeing old faces and meeting new cachers and nice to see Half Canadian all the way from BC. Hope we helped with giving you a memorable birthday.
Buttons and Beaux.

  Can-Seekers
The entire family had a great time for our first Cache event. Very cool to put faces to log entries. Very neat to compare notes. The park is incredible. The kids enjoyed all the activities. Thank you especially to Rogue Monkey and Dex for caches the kids have not stop talking about. We have already set this date for next year aside - wouldn't miss it! Don't change a thing. Thanks to TrailSeeker79 for camping with us and turning us onto Caching

  capjap
I expected nothing less than this. TT as usual, has put on a great event with the help of all his minions. I was happy to be able to help out this year, as it gave me the chance to get to know some of the faces attached to the names. The weather cooperated, and that made the day even more enjoyable. Would have been happier to have a good poker hand, but hey, you can't have everything.

I had planned on making this one my 500th cache, but as it turned out, it was #501. But I still celebrated the milestone with a great bunch of cachers. Thanks for the fantastic day, and looking forward to GHAGAFAP V-and that ain't no jive!

  charliezulu
As usual, an awesome event!
Along with lib and saf47, managed to do the TNC multi which was not well publicized.
Evil, nasty and creative caches to be sure, esp #2, #3 and the final, and of course totally in keeping with the TNC team's "fabrication" skills. And thanx for the Prize!!

Chris

  chris-mouse
Wow, once again the weather gods were smiling on us. You couldn't have asked for a better day to be out geocaching.
This was find number 800 for me, and man, what a party to celebrate

Many thanks to TrimblesTrek, Annie, and all the others who worked so hard to make the event such a great success
I can hardly wait for GHAGAFAP V to be alive.

  Clamdiggers
3rd ghagafap for me!

Day turned out better than I thought in terms of the weather. Decided not to do any caching - it was more enjoyable just to socialize and chat with different cachers.

Will definitely attend next year.

  CobyCrew
Hi Folks
Many thanks to all the people putting the work into making this a great event. It was our second GHAGAFAP and marked our one year anniversary as Geocachers. Creative caches, nice people and great weather - what more could you ask for? Thanks Again!

  Couparangus
Myself and Squeakieboots had an excellent time. It was great to see everyone and enjoy the camaraderie. A very special thanks to TT, AA & BnB. Sorry we couldn't make it a little earlier. Cheers! C-A

  Dave + Jen
Well Now...That was alot of fun. It was a great day and it was great seeing so many geocachers talking about geocaching. What an awsome event. Hats off to all that made it happen. I would have enjoyed staying longer but work is a four letter word. See you again next year.

  Dennisfauchez
What an event. A million thanks are in order, and I hope I don't forget anyone. Thanks to everyone behind the table, the organizers, helpers, cache creators... Thanks to the sponsors, and a special thanks to R.Monkey for the awsome Pasta dinner back at the camp, and another thanks to those who cooked us breakfast the next morning. I could go on to thank many more people but lets just say that the event was amazing and thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Thanks again,
-DennisFauchez

Calvin & I enjoyed our 2nd GHAGAFAB Cache event. What an event! Thanks to everyone, the organizers, helpers, campfire supporters (wood, supper, breakfast).
I had fun setting up the nite cache inside the Park.
When I went back in the evening to check it out, I couldn't find my own cache in the dark. I am glad the other 20 night cachers had better luck finding my night cache.

Dex & Calvin

  dianefauchez
What an awesome day. Thank you to all who put this event together. I would also like to thank rogueMonkey and BB for supper and breakfast. We had a great time.

dianefauchez

  DNStephens
My first GHAGAFAP, but not likely my last. Enjoyed the day. Got well stung by a hive of yellow jackets, counting welts now. Had a pleasant day with Team GeoCite, thanks for including me in your day, and for sharing your daughters with me. Kudos to all the organizers and cache-hiders. Well done!

  Ellesche
Thank you TT and everyone involved in the organization of the wonderful event. Not only was the weather perfect but I actually won a door prize! Ralph and I enjoyed finding most of the caches, very clever hides! We had a very good time.

  fizbot
First to log the visit. Looks like a great event so far.
Logging the cache remotely from the event wirelessly!!
Pictures from the event are available on my web page at: (visit link)
send me an email if you want high-res (8 megapixel)versions of any of these pictures.

  Flick
As most of you are aware, I'm rarely at a loss for words, but, in this case, just one is sufficient......FANTASTIC!! Everything from cache page to coleslaw was a work of art! As 1701eh mentioned to me during the day, there are only a handful of us that have attended all four G(H)AGAFAPS, and you can take it from me, they get bigger and better every year! My sincere thanks to everyone involved in organization and implementation, and to all those new and not-so-new faces that made my day a truly memorable one!

Doof, ya throw one heluva party!

  geocite
Awesome time had by all! The caches were excellent and we almost got a flush in the poker run (does that count?). We enjoyed spending the day caching with DNStephens. The kids had a blast playing bingo, smashing that annoying bunny and his annoying theme song and riding their bikes around the Valens area. It was great to see familiar faces and nice to meet new ones too and we're glad our Librarian Action Figure found a good home . We even managed a couple of door prizes and usually we're not that lucky. Thanks so much to TT and AA for organizing the event and to all the cachers that took the time to hide the various caches! See you all next year.

  GeoTub
Thanks for the great event. Nice to be able to some faces to the names I keep reading about.

GeoTub

  Group_W
Thanks to all the two letter acronyms (AA, TT, RM, BQ, ...) who put on this great event.
I had never done night caching before, and it is not as weird as I thought it would be.
I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but only flick understood the origin of the Group W name.
Definitely attending next year.

  GuelphHiker
Thanks to all of the folks who organized this event. It was a great success! It was a real treat to be able to put a face to so many of the people who I have only known through their online persona. Thanks to everyone: organizers, those who set up caches, those who contributed prizes, food, etc. A great job was done by all.

Half-Canadian and Scooter the Wonder Dog
Wow, you Ontarians really know how to put on an event! This great weekend was the highlight of my two-week trip visiting your beautiful area, and you really outdid yourselves -- great weather, super camping spot, good food, friendly people, and new caches. You made me feel really welcome, and I felt like I came home with a whole bunch of new friends!

Special thanks to AA, BB, TT, and Rogue Monkey for all you did to make my visit so enjoyable, along with everyone else who took the time to chat and also to wish me a happy birthday! You guys are great!!

Hope I can make the trip back again next year.

H-C

  hamgran
Lots of fun. I enjoyed every minute of it. Many thanks to the organizers and cache-setters for all the hard work; you've really got an event to be proud of, here.
I especially liked the multi-cache memorial to Terry Fox.

- hamgran

  hikerboy
Not much original I can say after reading all the logs preceding this one, other than to echo the thanks and accolades to TT and all others involved in this great event. Second to putting faces to names, highlights for me included the night-caching (very cool!), as well as standing up atop the fire tower looking out over the tree tops on a moonlit night. Can't wait until the next one!

  hikergirl_1
I had a great time. I liked all the dogs especially smudge and calvin. I liked the red and white night cache. It was cool. Thanks for making it.

  Hiking Cockroachess
Wow! This one just gets bigger and better every year! There were so many fun event caches that it was tough to decide which ones to do in the time I had...a cache for every taste! It's always fun to get to hobnob with my fellow geocachers! I'm already looking forward to next year!

  hollowtree898
Thoroughly enjoyed this event and really appreciated all the effort from all the organizers. We'll definitely be back again next year, and hope to have enough energy to take in the night caching next time. Thank you all for another outstanding weekend, including clearing up the weather!

  InteractiveWolf
The kids and I had a great time. It was super meeting everyone. We had a lot of fun and look forward to next year.

  IsqubaAndNawty
Our second GHAGAFAP and hopefully not our last. TT and team did a bang-up job. Always nice to see the faces of familiar names.

1701eh showed us that many people do not read instructions and the Monkeytail cache was a spectacular container. Well done.

It is too bad that the wasps and hornets are just as bad here as at our caches near Barrie. Must be a bad season.

Hope to see everyone who attended GHAGAFAP at the COG Spring Fling in May of next year or on the trails before then.

Thank-you very much for all the hard work, Chris & Renate

jeff-trex
So last year I was ther in the morning to place a few caches and had to leave in the afternoon. This year I missed the morning and showed up in the afternoon. Hopefully next year I will be there for the whole thing.

I did manage to finally get a OGA membership and to unload the 14 lb Evil TB. I also decided to spend the night.

What else can I say that hasn't been said before. TT, AA, NT, B&B , BQ, RM, Fizbot, 1701eh you guys all did a super job on your contributions to the event. I am sorry that I missed out on doing the RM, fizbot and 1701 caches they sounded like alot of fun.

The night caching after the event was a blast as usual. Numerous people wandering the woods with hundreds of dollars in electronic equipment looking for reflective trees, Hehe!!

The group camp fire was a perfect way to wind down after the event and I like when TT brought out his laptop and was playing name that tune.

The other high "LIGHT" was Mr Mom and his VBFL show.

All and all another great Ghagafap event can't hardly wait for Ghagafap V

  Jiminie Crickets
Well all i can say is another great event. Nice job TT and crew (too man to mention) looking forward to the next one.

  jtee
this was my first ghagafap event and im sure it wont be my last..had a great time..finally got to do some camping this year..am looking forward to next year's event..thanks for a great event!!

  JWID
Had a great time as the entire team came out for our first Geocaching Event.

What a prize table! What great fun/games organized! What wonderful caches planted.

What a shame there isn't more time in the day.

It was nice to meet some of the locals, and be able to say hello and thanks for planting the caches that have gotten us started.

This is #25 for us ... not a huge milestone, but a milestone none the less.

Thanks Everybody!
JWID

  Keith Watson
A very enjoyable day with my fellow cachers. I am quite sure there was a lot of fun in the destruction of the bunny. Thanks 1701eh for making a few of look like fools. At least we didn’t run line Nozz. Found a few caches and managed not to get sting. Mud Dog was not so lucky as she got sting with in about 10 minutes after sitting down to do some colouring. Looking forward to next year.

  Kit_Kat_Bar
Wow! Another successful year at GHAGAFAP! Thanks to everyone who pulled this together so smoothly, and thanks to everyone who came too. Especially the campers, otherwise it would have been an awfully lonely weekend on the site. It's only the day after and I'm already looking forward to going again next year!

Thanks for the fabulous event! Everyone really outdid theirselves this time around!

--KKB

  Kitten on the hunt
Thanks to the organizers for the hard work they put into this event. I heard some truly hilarious stories about geocaching adventures from friends. My family had a wonderful time. I feel inspired to get out and do more caching now!

  Lepidoptera
A beautiful day for it! Thanks to the organizers for putting it on,...I thoroughly enjoyed watching those playing the memory race game run around the empty field.

  lib
My first ever Geocaching event but for sure not the last one. Thanks to all the organizers, helpers and prize doners for a very well organized and fun day.

  Lil Jeeper
My first Geocaching event! Met lots of new people and nearly everyone was commenting how big I am for only 3 months. I can't wait until next year 'coz I'll be walking by then, then watch my Mum try and keep up.
Thanks for a fun & tiring day, I'll sleep through the night for sure tonight

  logger&trail
Just another WOW event from TT productions! His crew of helpers who oddly enough have two letter abbreviations (AA, BB, BQ, CJ, etc.) did a tremendous job of pulling together all of the small details. You outdid yourselves once again!

1701eh proved once again that we as cachers cannot or do not read. Very evil plan Tony ... I knew I liked you!

Thanks to all who visited the OGA table, it was great meeting you and getting your feedback and input. You had some great ideas that I hope we can implement very soon.

It was great meeting our out of province cachers who stopped by and Trail is looking forward to her scrapbooking excursion with Mrsbusymom in the near future.

I can go on and on, but Trail and I are so tired out from the days activities that we are gonna kick back for a while.

Wish we could have stayed for tonights festivities and I'm sure Rogue Monkey's pasta supreme will blow your socks off. Do a couple of night caches for me

  lordfishman
Had a great time today!

Got to meet a lot of cachers from the area who I have read about, and even met flick. Did the poker run caches with Flick, Buttons, Cap Jap, and Rouge monkey.

This was a well run event and am definately going to be there next year!

  M3J
Had a great time, thanks for the fun. Too bad we couldn't have camped after all....maybe next year.

Mike

  marywinkle

Looking forward to future events, a hearty thank you to everyone who participated in making this a great event.

  Micd
To many fine people to mention separtly, in case I would happen to miss one. So I will do it this way. Another fine job to each & everyone who had anything to do with this past weekends GHAGAFAP IV event. So nice to see everyone again & meet new ones as well. HATS OFF!!! to you all. I will return next year.

  mrmom
Hats off to the all the folks who worked so hard to make this event a success! A fantastic time was had by all. I enjoyed seeing all of the Northern geocaching friends. We will be back camping with the group at next years event. I did learn to always look before before I drink...that darn bee...

  MsBusymom
MrMom and I had a fantastic time camping. A big thanks to our host TT (and also for the "Chocolate milk" friday night) and all the others who did such a great job putting on this event! Thank you to Tomtec and Dex for the fun night caches and to Rogue Monkey for dinner. As always it was a pleasure seeing all of our Ontario friends as well as those from back home. We're looking forward to next year!

  murfster
Anothr great event!! hats off to TT, BQ and AA for all their hard work. Hope to see you all next year!!!

  Newtons Crew
I don't know what you do for a living, but you sure do know how to run a Geo event! It was our 1st GHAGAFAP. We had a great time and enjoyed the food, events, and meeting other Geocachers!!! See you next year.

  Northern Eagle
Spectacular! What can I say! Although I was unable to stay for the night time festivities, the day was absolutely fantastic. Thank You Annie, TT, BQ, and everyone involved in helping out and particulariy in organizing this event.

  northernpenguin
Ghagafap III was one year ago. It was also the first geocache I ever found. Shortly after G-III, I went out and bought my first GPSr, an eTrex Legend. The event day made such an impression on me (and Kitten on the Hunt) that we planned our fall getaway in Lake Placid with geocaching in mind.

Fast forward one year, and I've been to three picnic events, numerous pub nights, met several new friends and visited 500 geocaches. Not bad for one year.

Ghagafap IV was just as good for me as geocache #1 was, but this time I at least had some idea what was going on with all these people running around with the electronics.

I enjoyed meeting the familiar faces again, and meeting some new ones. It was good to see that the event was attracting cachers from Windsor and other areas we've been caching before.

I didn't spend a lot of time on the actual caching, save for that cache of Tony's that demonstrated that first line that says "Please read all the instructions before..." can be useful sometimes. Kudos to TrimblesTrek and all the other cachers that participated in organizing this wonderful event. I'm looking forward to next year's event for sure!

  Nozzletime
A great event and it sure shows how much people enjoy caching.
People coming the weekend before scouting out areas for caches, and setting them up, to make sure folks had stuff to do at the picnic.
The amount of organizing TrimblesTrek, Buttons and Beaux and Amazon Annie did for it all.
You can see how dedicated to the hobby everyone is when an event like this is pulled off, with rain the night before, and a mediocre weather start in the morning.
The turn out was bigger than the previous year I believe.
Thanks too all that attended and the organizers, all were needed for a fantastic time.

I'm looking forward to next year
Nozzletime & Smudge

  Off the Edge
Great day and nite! Thanks to Rogue Monkey for the great spaghetti dinner. Looking forward to seeing Fizbots pics. Special thanks to Trimbles Trek and all else who planned this event. Thanks for helping me find the campsite last nite Annie! Looking forward to next year!
OTE

  Olar
Thanks to all the organizers and helpers for a fantastic event. Without a doubt "The fours were with us"; weather, caches (day & night), old friends, new friends.

Cheers, Olar

  Othum
WOW! Cant say anymore, Thanks to all for thier effort. I really liked the "Ice Breaker". I invited my sister and children to this event, My nephew Tim did all the breaking and my sister signed many sheets as the "Muggle", they had a great time and so did I. It was my three day old Garmin Legend C that was closest to the pin. See you next year!

  Outdoors Nut
TT, AA, BQ, Nozzeltime, and the rest of the Ontario Geocachers group who worked so hard but made it look like it was fun, a big THANKS. Oh wait, it was a lot of fun, at least for those of us who took advantage of their hard work. This was my first GHAGAFAP but certainely not the last. My geodog, Goldie and my grand-daughter Kirsten had a lot of fun too.

  Pichu
I guess it's time I log something...

Great time, great weather... Not so great bugs, but who cares?

Thanks to all those who set this up. It was awesome, and you did a great job!
And to Chris-Mouse for beating the Bunny!

Looking forward to GHAGAFAP V,
~ Pichu

  Rayman77
My first event cache, and I had to come all the way from Buffalo to get it. Had a great time meeting some local cachers. We arrived a little later than planned, so we didn't have a chance to participate in many of the events. Did complete the poker run and one of Fizbot's caches though, and that was fun. Grabbed Sharks Stick Boy TB. Thanks to everyone who organized the event.

  res2100
Another wonderful time at my 3rd GHAGAFAP. Really enjoyed meeting and chatting with everyone and also finding the ingenious cache hides out there by Fizbot and Rogue Monkey and also Blue Quasar's Poker Run. It sure was lots of fun and we once again look forward to next year's event!

Oh and the Bunny will get it's revenge...you can't kill him off that easily. Fortunately I was not present for the slaughter. And you better check the corpse, as it may just be a clone.

  Rideau Rangers
Our second GHAGAFAP and cache #1000! Thanks to all for a fantastic day of caching and yakking and eating and waterballoons!

Thanks to the GHAGAFAP Executive Committee and Cache Placement Directors for creativity and dedication to the game.

Rideau Rangers

  robngill
We had a fantastic time at our first GHAGAFAP! It was really nice to put some faces to the names, and to walk away with the big basket of goodies that was donated as a door prize by B&B! Thank-you sooooo much! We will definitely be attending this event next year!

  Rogue_monkey
I only have 30 sec to make this speech before they cut me off with the music so i'll make it fast.
Yet another great ghagafap event. Thank you to all those that helpped out and made this a great event. I'd like to also thank mother nature for making saturday a little nicer then friday. the day was excellent as well as the night time festivities afterwards. I hope everyone enjoyed the pasta dinner. and congrats to all who found my cache.
See you all next year if not on the trails before then.

Thanks again to all those who helped out with the event.

  Rubi Jane "TNC"
Great weather, great people, great event! What more could you want? Hats off to TT and his team on delivering another successful GHAGAFAP! Thanks to everyone who had a hand in making this such a fun event.

  saf47
Another great event. The weather was perfect and it was nice getting to see everyone together in one place. Thanks to the organizers for a well run and very enjoyable event.

  SkyRattlers
Lots of fun and interesting caches. Enjoyed the poker run...would have been first back to camp had DNStephens not had a bike. :) Witnessed the run in with the yellow jackets and felt bad because I was the only 1 of 4 that didn't get stung.

Well, it was another great day. This was our second year and we all had fun once again. Poor Mud Dog got stung in the first 10 minutes but we managed to minimize the damage and she enjoyed the rest of the day. The kids were having so much fun playing with the other kids they did not want to cache so I only got to go to 2 caches. I enjoyed meeting new people though and really liked the idea of the ice breaker cache. What better way to find out about other cachers experiences. We took along a friend who has done some caching with us and his son. They both enjoyed the day. Probably too much since they both slept all the way home. Thanks to all involved in planning and executing this picnic and hope to see you all next year.

Wow what a great time! Geowife and I sure had one of the best times yet at a Caching event. Hard to believe that this was my first GHAGAFAP. I have heard so much about them and certainly this event lived up to all the expectations.

We certainly got the best possible weather for a caching event. I was equally impressed with Geowife who rounded the entire trail system With Earthquake and I with ease at 5 weeks pregnant!

Cheers to GHAGAFAP Central for orchestrating a bang-up job on a perfect day's events. You have set the bar for these types of Geocaching "Summit" events. We were able to formulate some great ideas for Spring Fling too! (We'll find a way to get you back Fizbot! )

What a day. Or should I say… What a weekend!

We (Teacup, Tae Kwon Dude and I) arrived about 3pm on Friday for the Pre-Event camping. This also allowed me the time to put out the Poker Run.

It was a dark and storm day on Friday, and we arrived just as the rains stopped. We started to get the tent set up and it started again. I had been fighting the urge all day to not camp, but Teacup insisted. We finally got everything together and I left to set up my part of the Event… and came back drenched.

It was great to spend the evening with some good friends before the Event and even got to do some night caching, and then be there in the morning to see the happy faces arriving.

First and foremost from the OGA side of me, I would like to thank Logger and Trail, Pups Best Friend for setting up the OGA tent and manning it most of the day. Glad to see some other OGA Members like Advill, Flick, Dex and others that I am forgetting helping out. Next year, we are only having the tent open till lunch, if at all.

On the GHAGAFAP Central side of things… Trimbles Trek as always, did a great job and with everything involved internally and externally I am really impressed how you managed it all. Annie and Nozzletime were instrumental in getting all of the GPS’s units going so everyone could enjoy the huge amount of things to do… And all those Events… so many people that I would be afraid to start listing in case I miss one, that I’ll put the pressure on TT. Special big congrats should go out to Buttons and Beaux for the Kid’s table and activities… you did great keeping all of those little monsters busy and smiling (and away from me ).

Also, I think that there might have been too much to do at GHAGAFAP this year. But variety is the spice of life, so there was plenty to do, so better too much right?. But it was also nice to see some many people socializing at the pavilion instead of going out.

There was very little clean up afterwards, which I thought was great, since everyone did well cleaning up after themselves or picked up stuff that they saw lying around.

That evening back at the camping was fun too. Trimbles Trek held an impromptu game of “Name that Tune” which Buttons seemed to miss out on, and I enjoyed talking to Dex and Dex jr (Aurora Borealis) while most others went out Night Caching again. I was way too tired.

Another great event, and if it wasn’t so damp at the camp, we would have stayed for the breakfast…. But a bad sleep and feeling run down.. we snuck out relatively unseen.

OH! And thanks to Rogue Monkey for teaching me about my gas stove… a little useful thing I didn’t know for over 30 years.

Getting back to the Event itself, it was nice to meet all of you again or for the first time, and Trimbles Trek… I’ll be one of your little minions next year if need be.

My wife went to GHAGAFAP III last year, so this was my first time. What a great way to spend a Saturday. And I have to say, what a well orchastrated event - my thanks to EVERYONE who helped out - from the cache hiders to the OGA folks. Thanks for a great day.

We had a great time. Many thanks to all who helped out. It was fun for the whole family. Night caching under the full moon felt awesome. Group camping was a treat.

This was my first outdoor summer event, but I can tell right away they don't get any better than this. Came up from Buffalo with Rayman77 and Dru, and had a great time. Completed the Poker Run, and thought I had a pretty good hand, but not even close. Thanks to all who planned this excellent event.

My Fourth G(H)AGAFAP picnic, and the best one yet! Lots of great caches to find during the day too... Glad I was able to prove that cache instructions are written that way for a reason... he he, nice shades Nozz! And my 2 years of poker run organizing experience helped me "stack the deck" in my favour... (Actually, it's a tradition, the last hand submitted has always been the winning hand!) Glad to hear everyone enjoyed the night caches... keep your eyes peeled for a future night caching event! Same time, same place next year?

Well TT once again you set up another successful picnic. The help from AA and Nozzletime was immense. BQ and Teacup should also be commended for their efforts as well as al those who set up the many diverse caches for everyone. It truly shows evil is alive in hiders no names mentioned OK Fizbot...OOps. I knowthere were others involved that either I didn't know or can't remember but to all I am very thankful and proud to be part of such an organization.

Thanks again for the good time.

My son and I had a great time, thanks to everyone for all the hard work and thought put into this event. This was our first event but definitely not our last! Yes, we were the ones that got misplaced on GeoPoker 5. It was nice putting faces to the names we so often see in cache logs. Thanks again and hopefully the next event we will have the full Crew!

  Wise Eagles
