Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates will take you to one of several possible parking spots.

When it was first suggested to me that we should get a Standard Poodle as our next dog, I was not too thrilled.  Why on earth would anyone want such a foo foo princess kind of dog?  But then, I vaguely remembered my parents watching a friend's poodle while they travelled...I didn't remember it as anything but a fun dog.

A little research later and I was able to make the leap to poodle ownership.  Standard Poodles are indeed "manly" dogs.  Heck, if John Steinbeck was willing to share a camper across the the country with one, they couldn't be all bad could they? Also, I found that they originally functioned as water dogs to retrieve birds.  In fact, this working aspect of the breed is gaining more and more respect among the traditional modern retriever community (though you are still likely to get some skeptical looks at retriever trials).

To get glimpse of the verstatility of the breed take a look at Versatility in Poodles web site (if you don't visit it you won't find the cache).  If you take a look at the Working Poodle link you will be able to find some information about the requirements for achieving the Working Certificate and Working Certificate Excellent (WC/WCX) Titles.

To reach WP 1 you will need to find out how many birds (a) have to be retrieved at 50 yards on land for the Working Certificate Title, and the number of yards (b) that are required for the land retrieve for the Working Certificate Excellent.

The first WP will be found at:

N 47 35.x     where x = (210*a) + 3
W 122  11.y  where y = (3*b) - 8

The resultant coordinates will take you a micro find where you will find the coordinates to the final sandwich size box.  It should be a nice stroll in the park if you choose a fair weather day! The difficulty is mainly based on the muggle factor.
