Unarchive a geocache

Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. Only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ can unarchive caches. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if the cache meets the current geocaching guidelines.

If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a two litre container with a blue lid. It is covered pretty much with leaf litter. Please recover with care as campers may search around ground zero looking for firewood.

The cache is located in a Disease Risk Area (DRA) (no vehicles allowed) and is near a Bibbulmun Track campsite, so you need to walk into this one (about 3.5 km). Please do not drive on the Track or in the DRA.

I suggest you park at S32 56.630 E116 11.117 where Driver Road crosses the Murray River. Please note, that in winter or after heavy rain, the river may not be crossable.

From the parking point, walk east on Driver Road for approximately 300 metres, picking up the Bibbulmun Track crossing. Turn south (right) onto the Bibbulmun Track. Follow the Waugals (snake on yellow trail marker) until you reach the Dookanelly Campsite (3.4 km). The cache can be found a short distance up the side of the valley behind the campsite. There is no need to go off-track until the campsite is reached.

If you wish to make any comments please post a log or email me. Please log your find in the cache and on Geocaching.com. Please no hints or multiple logs, but please do leave a photo or two. Phone a friend is allowed, but hopefully not required.

Congratulations to The Chrisbets on their FTF - April 24, 2005.
