Grandpa George’s Homeland:
This is one of the locations included on the Great River Road Passage (GRRP) of caches. Click here to see map. (Additional details about the GRRP series is given further below in the description.)
This cache is located in the Clayton cemetery. It is not in the river town of Clayton but just northwest of it on 222nd street (a very short B-level maintenance road off of the Great River Road). This cache has been titled “Grandpa George’s Homeland” because the cemetery is adjacent to what used to be my grandfather’s farm where he was raised. This century farm is still owned by family members.
If the gates are closed, do not park blocking the other driveways. There is a smaller walk-in gate (built into the main drive-thru gate) to enter the cemetery. While here, feel free to enter the utility building to sign the guestbook or look over the map of the burial plots. (They encourage visitors.) The container contains high-quality starting-cache prizes. (Please provide no spoilers on the website log or they will be removed.)
