The Village Green is a wonderful spot for young and old. The
playground was built by locals a few years ago in an awesome
display of community effort. The boardwalk extends just over 0.1
miles with great views of flora and (if you are quiet) fauna. The
nature trail takes you under the canopy of huge rhododendron.
There are two parking possibilities depending on how quickly you
want to find the cache:
1. Not So Fast N 35° 06.664 W 83° 06.159
These coordinates will get you to the Cashiers Post Office parking
lot. You should see the mulch trail leading to the boardwalk. If
you park here you will get to walk the full length of the boardwalk
on your way to the cache.
2. Quicker N 35° 06.751 W 83° 06.111
These coordinates will get you to the Village Green parking lot.
The end of the boardwalk should be clearly visible; the trailhead
of the nature trail is a few feet along the boardwalk.
To get to the cache you must leave the boardwalk at about N 35°
06.732 W 83° 06.136; a mountain crocodile will show you the correct
path. Stay on the trail as long as possible; you should be able to
get to within about 10 feet of the cache before having to leave the
trail.
This cache is a replacement for the naturewalk cache, which was placed by the
Summit Charter School Geocaching Club. Enjoy the hunt!
