Geocache Description:

This cache is located at Acuff's Chapel, near Blountville, Tn.

Acuff's Chapel was the first Methodist church in Tennessee. It was built in 1786, and restored in 1963. The chapel is named after Timothy Acuff (1732-1823). He and his wife Anna Leigh settled in Sullivan county from Virginia. He was granted land for his service in the Revolutionary War and he gave that land for use for the chapel. Acuff's Chapel was the first Methodist meetinghouse in Tennessee and the first west of the Appalachian Mountains. In 1962 the Holston Conference Society restored the chapel using the original logs. There is an ajoining cemetary which contains the remains of Timothy, Anna Leigh, and other early settlers. One of the graves is of Micajah Adams, a member of Pvt Shelby's regt. from the Revolutionary War. He helped to build the original chapel.

You are looking for a 4x6 Tupperware container, clear with a blue-rimmed lid.
