A three stage multi cache.
This cache will give you a nice hike and a scenic view of Sandhill Lake, a little known and little used lake located between Grayling and Frederic. A branch of the AuSable River flows alongside the trail to the lake. It is a hike in, requiring a walk of about a mile round trip. The first two stages are camo-ed pill bottles, and the cache is a large camo-ed container with a screw off lid. There are bound to be bugs in the spring/summer, so bring repellant. We saw some deer while placing this cache, and there are sure to be many other critters in this area.
There is a parking area near the first stage, and you will have to walk from there. You can access this area at N 44* 43.776 W084* 44.903
You can see the remains of an old bridge near stage #1, and a very peaceful setting near stage #2.
We hope you enjoy the hike and this small, secluded and serene lake.
p.s. Our Quasi Quaint Quint Quads Quest cache is nearby, so visit them both if you have the time.
