This cache is a metal ammo box which should be a fairly easy find. Traffic is low in the area, but be cautious if others are visiting the cemetery. And as always….please respect this property.
WESTON CEMETERY was founded in 1871, and is still being used today. An example of historical interest were Thomas & Augusta Moorhouse. They arrived in the Oregon Territory in 1861. They originally homesteaded up Cottonwood Creek closer to Walla Walla. But in 1882, they moved to property just east of cemetery and began another homestead. The large, red barn you can see to the southeast was part of that farm. The Moorhouses are buried near the NE gate of this cemetery.

PIONEER CEMETERY SERIES: This is one in a series of caches hidden in or near old cemeteries. Some of the cemeteries have been abandoned, while others are still in use today. These cemeteries all have burials dating back to the 1880’s or before. As a “Daughter of the Pioneers of Washington” and a member of the “Sons and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers”, I have a special interest in the history of our valley and the Pacific Northwest.
