Geocache Description:

After many comments on the number of stops in "Willi by Bike", I decided to do one where you can sit on your arse and get all the answers (you can even drive there).

1. Can You See The Bottom?
Depths on nautical charts are give as two figures. Older charts give fathoms and feet. (A fathom is six feet, so 4.5 would be 4 fathoms (24 feet) and 5 feet, total of 29 feet.) Newer charts give them as meters and decimal meters (ie: 4.5 is 4500 mm).
On the chart in front of you, what is the deepest depth outside of the channel? A.B

2. Show me where to go
Lighthouses have abbreviations to describe their characteristics. Each light in an area has a unique pattern. For example a light could be described as: Fl(3)WRG 15s 13m 7-5M.
This means:
Fl(3) - flashing light repeating in a group of 3 flashes
WRG - Colours of the light (white, red, green)
15s - Period of light in seconds - how long it takes to show one complete series of 3 flashes and dark bits.
13m - Elevation of light's focal plane above the water
7-5M - Luminous range. In this case white 7 nautical miles, green 5 miles.

Lonsdale light is described as: LFl(2)WR15s
2 long flashes every 15 seconds, white and red sectored light.

If the light on the land was a light house, how would you describe the white light?
Fl (C)s (DE)m (FG)M
A bit of reading is in order here.
Hint: Fl means single flashes, don't use Fl(1)

3. Starry, Stray Night
On the star chart, the twins (in Gemini) are about the same magnitude (brightness). How many vowels (total) in their names? (H)

4. More Digging
The channel was dredged to a depth of 10 meters, when? (JKLM)

5. A Couple of the colours of the rainbow
A sectored light shows multiple colours. If you are in the channel, you will see white, move out of the channel and you will see red or green.
How many nautical miles away could you see this light (assume no curvature of the earth, and perfect seeing conditions)? (NP)

6. Still seated? (not for long)
Calculation time. The cache is at 37 PG.M(B+F)(E-C) 144 PP.AHE
It does not require you to climb walls or enter private property.
