This cache has been archived.

Jayhawk64: This ones been out there long enough. It was the first lamp post cache in PC, but this park deserves something better now. I don't have immediate plans if someone else has a good idea.

Geocache Description:

This micro is located near some tennis courts and is between the muggle rich environments of the Oakland Terrace playground and the ball fields. However, most of the time you’ll be able to get to this micro without being observed. Hopefully, the tennis players will have their eye on the ball and not on you unless they hit a home run [:)].

A long time local told me that in WWII an armored tank division bivouacked on this hill under the command General Patton. A fellow cacher confirms that local historian Marlene Womack documented this in the local newspaper. A history of the Catholic Church in Panama City also notes that General Patton bivoucked his troops near here prior to departing for Europe.

This is one of the highest places in Panama City and at one time we lived nearby. When I told my college friend who was living in Colorado at the time that I lived on top of a hill at an elevation of over 30 feet, for some reason he wasn’t impressed .

You’ll want to bring the kids and enjoy the playground and picnic areas.

And don’t forget that pen.
