Welcome to Quechee Gorge, and the mystery of Spyglass Cliff
A cache inspired by Hardy Boys mystery novels; the above co-ords will bring you to the starting point of the adventure. To find the treasure you must complete the following:
First, go to the above coords and find a micro. In it will be another set of coords that will take you to a second micro. Lots of muggles have been seen in the area, so have some "cover" ready; bring your dog or kids.
Next, use the coords in the second micro to help you find a survey marker disk.
Upon the disk set your compass to 305 deg. and take four paces. Stop and re-set your compass to 31 deg. and step off another 12 paces. Don't move! Turn and face the large cliff.....
Here you will need a spotting scope and a bit of historical knowedge. By last count, there are three United States that begin with the letter "C". Down below, carved on a rock about 95 yards away, is the abbriviation for one of the states. When was this state granted statehood? The last two numbers of that year are X and Y for the final set of coords! (example: 19XY)
Now, solve for the location of the cache:
N 43-38-1X3
W 072-24-5XY
The cache is rubbermaid type container; the final coords may be a bit off as there is lots of tree cover. Kids and dogs need minding as sudden vertical drops be near. The area is a treasure trove for those who engage in CITO and ice cream is close by in summer.
