Another great virtual but is
a mystery micro cache. I found this nifty hidden place on a
motorcycle ride once by accident when I made a wrong turn which
turned out to be the right turn! Located on the river, it's quite a
remarkable spot to visit and I do often. Should the armory be open
(see pic, it's only open by chance!), Dan is happy to let you
stroll thru and see the amazing things inside. But, since this is
an auction hall, what's really special is that there will be
DIFFERENT amazing things inside each time you visit because
Dan is a REAL American Picker! But you don't need to go inside for
the cache since our puzzle involves the rather large and amazing
things you'll see out front (these aren't your tabletop Remingtons
to be sure!)
The coordinates above will place you
before a dedication plaque at the entrance to the armory. Here's
how to find the micro which is within a short walking distance
using just the stuff out front of the armory....
Value X is the later date on
the plaque minus the earlier date on the plaque minus the number of
letters in "Remington".
Value Y is the later date on the plaque minus the earlier
date on the plaque plus the regiment number on the plaque.
Value A is the building address 2nd and 3rd numbers added to
each other minus the 1st and 4th numbers written as a number.
Value B is value Y plus the number of doors at the
main entrance.
Value C is the number letters on the white sign to the right
of the main entrance.
Value D is value Y minus (the regiment number divided
by value C).
For the cache location, write the
digits of your values in order:
North
41º X.AB
West 079º Y.CD
For the handicapped: The puzzle
elements and the cache itself are handicap accessible and limited
parking is available. A friend can probably get you up the steps to
see the goodies inside.
Please, no pictures that would
spoil the puzzle!
