Easy walk from Part 1 to Part 2. You could actually walk to Part 3 easily but for convenience sake, you might want to drive as the final cache is just outside the cemetery. Be sure to check out some of the interesting markers in the area.
Container is a well camouflaged green plastic container that will blend into the surroundings. Original cache is full of goodies--cards, kids cards and cars, Betty Boop pencil, tape measure, jacks & balls, marbles, watergun.
This cache has three parts and will give you a little history behind the Goodnight-Loving Cattle Drives. You must do this cache before sunset as the gates to the cemetery close at sunset. This is our first and we had a great time putting it together. Hope you enjoy the bit of history and the beautiful old cemetery.
Part 1: Original coordinates. Such a tribute to this man is inscribed on the tombstone, which is difficult to read, that I'm sharing it here: "Served with me four years on Goodnight-Loving Trail; never shirked a duty or disobeyed an order; rode with me in many stampedes; participated in three engagements with comanches; splendid behavior. C. Goodnight"
Part 2: These will lead you to this loving spot. To obtain the North coordinate, add the year Bose joined the cattle drive to 43.941.
32N _ _._ _ _
To obtain the West coordinate, subtract the year Bose was born as written on the historical marker from 49.426.
097W _ _._ _ _
Part 3: These coordinates will lead you to the final cache--goodnight. To obtain the North coordinate, add the year the wife died to 43.799.
32N _ _._ _ _
To obtain the West coordinate, subtract the year the husband was born from 49.357.
097W _ _._ _ _
Happy hunting.
