This is a kid-friendly cache both in terms of the hike and the theme, which is games and play. Our family loves board and card games so we’ve filled this cache with different games as well as puzzles and other playthings. If you’re trading please keep with the theme and leave a favorite game or play item of yours for others to share. Hope you enjoy this beautiful area and have fun with your trade when you get home!
Clark Reservation State Park is a geologic wonder of the last ice age and a botanist's paradise. The park's natural features include rugged cliffs, woodland and meadow, a wetland and a glacial plunge basin lake. Click here for more information.
Clark Reservation is home to rare plants, including some that grow only at this location - bushwhacking is not allowed (please stay on the trails).
The cache is near a trail named for a renowned Syracuse University botanist. The cache requires a short walk off-trail at the very end, and was placed in consultation with the park supervisor to insure that no rare plants would be endangered (the short off-trail segment was approved by the park supervisor). You should be within about 40-50 feet of the cache before venturing off trail. First-to-Find goes to hubbye!
The trailhead begins at the western end of the parking lot, up a short hill.
There are many geocaches at Clark Reservation – if you want to find them all in one day, allow a few hours and be sure to print the trail map attached as a photo below!
