Geocache Description:

“OHIO SPIRIT QUEST”

The Ohio Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Buckeye Pioneers. This series is inspired by and a continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by Six Dog Team. In just over three years, the SPIRIT QUEST has grown to over 550 caches, with the hiding teams growing as well. The Ohio Spirit Quest has begun to grow with seven current hides in one Northwest Ohio county, with four current caching teams, three each with A Man and His Dog... and one with A Woman and her Dog. Over 1,000 cachers have logged over 25,000 finds. One cache machine found 111 ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours only).

OHIO SPIRIT QUEST #001

”WHO'S SNOOZIN' NOW?"

This is our first incursion across the state line. Listen to what the SHADOW has to say:

Welcome to Farnham Cemetery in St. Joseph Township, Williams County, Ohio.

This cemetery is located just over the state line. It looks to have been, and still is a "family" cemetery. There are many tombstones here with the surname Farnham. It's midsize and still is active. There is a beautiful white fence surrounding the area, with walk/drivethru gates. The sign says 1844, and there is a very nice, well preserved marker, for the cemetery's namesake, Sally Farnham, who passed the same year. Obviously, I saw none dated earlier.

A new addition looks to have been added in 1980, the Jennings Addition. It's about two rows in width.

I located the graves of several Civil War Veterans here and at least one each WWI & WWII Veterans. I have no doubt there are many more.

This is a nice quiet location, and well kept. It's only a stone's throw from Fish Creek. I never saw a single vehicle pass the two hours I was here. At least there are a few areas left like this.---THE SHADOW
