If Ida MudKat Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Yuzawa Kat: Yes, the cache was at the coords [^], though its original connectivity method had been compromised. [V] When I brought it out of hiding, some red ants [:(!] let me [:o] know of their displeasure at being disturbed. We had come prepared for a new cache placement if this one was gone, so we followed through with that plan. [^] Thanks for all who visited here (hi, MudKat! [:X]), and all please be on the lookout for the new cache, If Ida Mudkat Closer to the Mud, for your GXing pleasure. [:D] Have a blessed day. Happy caching ~~

Geocache Description:

All new series! "If Ida" is short for "If Ida known you were coming, Ida baked you a cake." This series celebrates, in a variety of ways, GXers we have met. Do you know what or who a MudKat is? Well, Burgi Dad and I proudly proclaim, "Yes, we do!"

This cache was supposed to come online with the others we prepared for East Meets West for a CITO, but I comPLETEly forgot about it! On Wednesday evening, when we were GXing with our new friend from Western NC, MudKat , she said something about always wanting a MEFTF (Most Excellent First To Find in my world). I realized I could easily give her that gift, so I gave her these coords. However, I still hadn't thought about what I'd call it... Hmmm, what to call it... think, think, think...

On the drive to work this morning, it came to me... knowing what this place might look like when the rains come... Knowing the neighborhood warren you usually have to drive through to get here... Knowing you can add an extra half-star of difficulty by using the "round bridge" at the south end of the park... knowing our usual form of urban GXing here is Pinellas is nothing like MudKat's usual GXing trails... "If Ida MudKat" is the perfect way to celebrate our new friendship. You'll never believe the miraculous number of similarities in our lives. Hey, I want to be a MudKat when I grow up, and CSI Crue (that's Cache Scene Investigator Crue to you) says I'm already halfway there!

MudKat responds: "Now actually, a mudcat (with a C) is a Florida freshwater catfish. They are native to Florida, as I am, live covered in mud, as I sometimes do, and they eat garbage (translate to "junk food") as I sometimes do." Sounds like someone to like, eh

GXers, when you come here, your best bet is to carry a bag and appear to be CITOing the area. Nothing else you do will deflect a curious GeoMuggle's attention any quicker than that. In addition, please beware of the Florida State Bird. Be prepared for sightings as well as possible (probable) contact...

~~ Have a blessed day. Happy caching. ~~ YK and BD
