Simple one-stage cache, on sunny West Beach of Deception Pass State Park
West Beach, at Deception Pass, is one of our all-time favorite Washington locations. Although it's pretty packed in the summer, it's very tranquil and enjoyable off season. Although I haven't cleaned the whole park out yet, I couldn't resist putting one right in the heart of the fun.
You'll need to be VERY cautious of muggles as you look for, find and open the cache. In busy months, they'll be all around you, coming and going constantly. If you're careful, you should be able to pull it off. If you're not, I'll be losing my box pretty quickly (it's a painted ammo box - although the pattern doesn't match the hiding spot enough to call it camoflaged).

UPDATE - JULY 4, 2005 -- Repositioning. The Box had been found and rehidden by a park employee. We came up today to try to recover and rehide it. It was actually sitting out, on top of a log (as it had been once before, according to the logs). We moved it up the beach, trying to find a more private place for recovery. Careful, some of the cover is sharp.
