INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST #185

”We Love you, Pappy and Mammy"

Welcome to Jones Cemetery, Jackson Township, Wells County. This rather large rural cemetery's first burial was that of Sallie Harrold in 1870. It is located across the highway from the site of the first school house in the township, built in 1840. There are 35 members of the Jones family interred here, spanning the 100 year period from 1898 to 1998. There are also 36 Boxells buried here as well as two GARMINS. See if you can spot Sylvester "Bud" Nunley's (1946-1997) tombstone.

Some of the Civil War graves we spotted:

CHRISTOPHER C. M. BOCK (1834-1909) CO. H 147TH INDIANA
JAMES B. DERRY (1841-1898) CO. B 8TH INDIANA
GEORGE GAISER (1834-1904) CO. A 58TH OHIO
wILLIAM H. DOLLY CO. F. 118TH INDIANA

The coordinates at the top of the page will get you to the Cemetery. Once there, you must find the large Jones Cemetery monument with the cube on top balanced on edge. From there wander thirty feet or so up the road to the Tree that hides the cache....(This cache is in plain sight)Belay that:The cache was missing; we've relocated it and changed the coordinates and clue and it is now upgraded to a small container..

CERTAIN COMFORTS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE CEMETERY SHOULD YOU REQUIRE THEM (The two tombstones to the left no longer mark grave sites.)

The cache container was a 35mm film can.Now it's a plastic peanut jar. BYOP. Park with Extreme care.If you find a fallen US flag, please stick it back in the ground. As always, please be respectful, and cache in, trash out. XXXXXXXXXXXXX
