Geocache Description:

In memory of my cousin, hunting & fishing buddy and all around good friend.

Welcome to the Taconic Ridge in New York. This is a state owned area of land. A home to many different species of wildlife. So, don't be surprised if you run into one of them now and then. This land is also open to hunting so be careful during hunting season. There is parking at N42* 48.576 W073* 17.321. Just look for the sign that you see in the photos. After parking you'll want to follow the road beyond the yellow gate. Don't start out on the Taconic crest trail, you'll be awful sorry if you do. You don't want to be bushwacking through the thorns. Follow the road until it comes to a "Y". This part reminds me of the Robert Frost poem, "The road not taken", You'll see why. After this point you are on your own. Also you will see something that looks familiar to ya. An ammo can awaits a visit.
