Coon Rapids Lost Cache (Clue Final) Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sleepless: Thanks for all the fun and thanks for voting my cache COTM after it was placed!! I sure will miss all you guys!!

Some interesting notes (at least I think they are interesting)

The walk into this hide always reminded me of Jurrasic park because the plants around here were HUGE, especially the poison ivy. That is what kept the local kids away.

This cache was only 200 feet from "Hindo's Hatch"... I always thought it was amusing when people who were working on the clues went in after the hatch cache.... if they only knew that the prize they were seeking was steps away.

The pond that was next to the cache site used to be a "swimmin' hole". I got email once from Ko-tis-vey who told me that he and his brother used to swim there when they were kids. Looking at that pond now, I can't even imagine dipping my toe into it.

I still think this is an excellent cache spot..... maybe if one day the other cache in the park gets archived or moved somebody should snag this spot... it has never been muggled even though it is a HUGE geo-beacon that just screams "explore here!!!"

The baseball that was in the cache was originally the logbook for a baseball cache event I did in 2003. I am so surprised that nobody took it, but now that I am looking at it again I see there are MANY more signatures on it, so I am keeping it as a nice memento of this cache.

This cache at one time contained ALL the items that were listed on the clue cache page (except the Laker & the M&Ms) -- I see that the only thing left is the Spiderman Pez

Only 5 of cachers who were listed on the FTF section came and found the cache

Well.... this one is gone, and so am I
See you all someday....

Geocache Description:

NOT AT ABOVE COORDINATES!!!! READ BELOW FOR CACHE DIRECTIONS
One fine spring day while Centris was searching some newly listed caches in Coon Rapids, a huge wind came up suddenly and blew all her geo-notes and maps away. Now she can’t properly log her finds. She also accidentally dropped an ammo can while she was out and now she can’t find that either. So sad, eh?

I have managed to gather her notes and papers, but they are all jumbled up.
Your task is to visit the caches she had on her geo-list that day.

Find out…

  • …what she took,
  • …what she left,
  • …and see who beat her on the FTF (First to Find).
Eliminate the cachers and the items “Clue” style – the coords that are left will lead to the “Lost Cache”

** Only read the laminated portion of the cache log. (these are typed and stapled on the BACK of the log book and are all dated 4/22/05 – no handwritten logs count as a clues!!) Some of the clues may seem illogical, such as taking a large item from a micro cache, but just play along – OK?
Please be careful not to give away any of the clues in your online logs. You may however, post as much disinformation as you want – LOL.

** These caches do not have to be found in any particular order and all the clue caches are also regular caches that can be found and logged even if you are not working the puzzle.

Update 5/14..... Be careful where you park for all of these caches. There is legal parking nearby for ALL 11 caches!

The Clue Caches…..

If there is any part of the clues you don’t understand or are having trouble with, geo-mail me and I’ll help you out – no problem!!!

Update 5/13......
Instructions for those who have never played Clue....... (because I have received LOTS of email from various people who do not know the game)

~ The above game card listing cachers and items are TWO separate & independent lists put side by side to save page space instead of listing them the long way down the page.
~ You are crossing off items and cachers on the above list - not matching coords to clue caches. Don't try to add any of them together.
~ You are looking for three pieces of information at each of the ten clue caches. It is on a laminated tag. Handwritten logs *do not* count as clues. Stop and think about what information is given at the cache.
~ Cross off whoever was FTF. There will be two names on the list that are not mentioned in the logs... THOSE are your N & W coords.
~ Cross off the cache items. EVERY item mentioned in a cache log is on the list in some form. Think about it for a minute and figure it out. The two items you do not cross off are the last portions of the coords.
~ If you come up with the wrong final coords, geo-mail me with what you have and I'll help you.
