Visit Bridal Veil Falls, up behind Lemonthyme Lodge. Nice walk, very steep in parts, not recommended for young children.
Head out the Cradle mountain Road, and then turn left to take about an 8km drive down good dirt roads to Lemonthyme Lodge. They have day visitor parking that you can use. Head into reception and sign in the walks book in the foyer. You don't need to be a guest, it's for everybody.
Take the walk, expect about 2hrs return, with a pretty steep grade for about the first kilometre. I'd suggest you take the detour through Champagne Falls on the way in, you are that close, you might as well get two lots of falls in - it only adds a few minutes and is worth the visit.
To find the cache, you have to almost get under the veil, sit on the bench and take a rest. Do not leave the track to find the cache. The sat lock is particularly shoddy, so don't even look at the GPS - its' not going to help you. The point is pretty approximate, I wouldn't put much faith in it.
Enjoy your walk, there is a brochure (free) that you can collect when you sign in that gives you information about some of the flora and fauna you may encounter on the way.
I used the Scout Scale (from (visit link) to rate the terrain of the cache - I wouldn't take small children (mine are 8 and 6 and this would have been waaay to much for them) but it is unlikely to leave you winded.
DOGS: After an inquiry, I have contacted Lemonthyme Lodge and asked about Dogs on the Bridal Veil Falls track. They were OK with dogs as long as THEY REMAIN LEASHED AT ALL TIMES and REMAIN WELL CLEAR OF THE LEMONTHYME LODGE BUILDINGS.
