Geocache Description:

DON’T EVEN THINK OF GOING ONTO THE RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAYS!

For more than 500 years the rolling hills and grasslands of what is today southwestern Placer County were home to the Maidu Indians. Then, in 1849, gold was discovered, and the tranquil landscape would change forever. In 1864, track- laying crews from the Central Pacific Railroad pushed eastward from Sacramento across the plains on their way to building what would become the western half of the nation's first intercontinental railroad. At the site of today's Roseville, the rails of the Central Pacific intersected with those of the California Central, a small line which then linked the young towns of Folsom and Lincoln. The place where the two lines joined was listed on railroad maps simply as "JUNCTION". It was around the junction that a small freight and passenger center called Roseville would develop. Roseville was but one of many ubiquitous shipping points that would pop up along the railroad rights-of-way as a new type of community was introduced to California - the "railroad town".

The first stage is a railroad-themed place that would be a dream house for some and a nightmare for others! You don’t have to disturb the resident or even get out of your car. You will be looking for some tall structures in the yard. Look for the structure that has Red, Yellow and Blue arranged vertically. Write down the 4-digit number and subtract 987 and plug in below.

The stage two N = 38 45.____. (I've been made aware that the orientation of this array may be 'moveable'. Only one Red, Yellow, Blue array will give you a number that calculates to the desired '3-digit' result)

Then find the structure that has Red, Red, Blue - Yellow, Yellow, Blue. Write the 4-digit number and divide by 2. Take that result and then subtract 897 and plug in below.

The stage two W = 121 16.____. Go to the stage two coordinates; plenty of parking nearby

At stage two, remain on the sidewalk and find out how many gallons the Tender holds. Take this 4-digit number and divide by 8, then drop the decimal. That number = X.

Stage three coordinates are: N38 44. (X + 51)

And W121 17. (X / 3.8).

Plenty of parking at the final stage. It is small and blends in with the surroundings. It can be high traffic, so watch for muggles. It is not necessary to trample any vegetation. A small tool my be required from time to time to either access or secure the cache container.
