Our second cache hidden in Lake Park, a county park situated off of Dale Mabry Highway in North Tampa. The cache is now a small, round lock 'n lock container with room for a log sheet & teeny tiny trade items.
Lake Park is a 589-acre park that is a joint-venture between Hillsborough County and the City of St. Petersburg. Despite the activities in the picnic areas, horse stables, rodeo arena, archery range and BMX bicycle tract, the trails themselves traverse several Florida habitats. Wildlife includes gopher tortoises, armadillos and rabbits as well as all sorts of snakes (as always, be careful!). …And of course you may also be greeted by numerous horses and leashed doggies, who are also permitted in this park.
Entrance to this great park is $2.00 donation. We parked near the horse arena and BMX track and proceeded to the trailhead at N 28 07.324, W082 30.764 . The walk from the trailhead to the cache is approximately .2 miles.
Since the cache is located only a couple feet off the trail, please be sure to conceal it well when you rehide it. Have fun!
