While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed, and it is time to have it listed once again it will be no problem as long as it still meets the guidelines. Just drop me a note( by email at Mongo@geocachingadmin.com) and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Mongo

Geocache Description:

I have two loves. One is biking (bicycling) and the other is caching. If you love both like I do, this is the cache for you!! This cache is described as a "3" in difficulty/terrain because the course is 10 miles long, and can not be driven by car. The course is on two very popular fairly flat 'paved' biking/hiking trails in the city: The Galloway Trail & the James River Trail.

If you are new to geo-caching, during this 10 mile loop you will pass by several other caches which you might not have found yet, so this could be a very productive day for you. Some of the caches you will pass by are below. You might want to check them out:

Wild Goose by Chrisburros
B-N-B Cache by 2NuBees
Galloway Trail by Shbear
The Lake of Nature by RecSpecialist
Forgotten Bridge by Barns
Off The Trodden Trail by OzarksJim

BIKING FOR CACHES is a multi-cache. The coordinates listed are for the trail head and a place to park. The parking place is a school parking lot, so it might be best to do this cache on a weekend, or after school hours. The trail head is across the street from the parking area.

Once you find the trailhead and start on the trail, you will notice white painted markings on the paved trail showing how far you have gone. Clues for the cache coordinates are found by watching these markings. Please note that at times the trail crosses roads and might pick up directly across the road or pick up 100 feet to the right or left.

(A) Just **BEFORE** passing GA-1.4 (marking 1.4 miles down the trail) there is a yellow sign on the fence:
__ __ - __ __ __
(Add together the first & last numbers of the 5 numbers on the sign.) There is another sign *after* the GA-1.4 marking, make sure you get the right one!!!
Note: After you pass the park, the trail will cross Lone Pine Avenue and pick up on the other side. (Notes are not clues, I'm just trying to be helpful.)

(B) After passing GA-3.7 there is a stone bench. On top there is a Scripture:
Matthew: __ : __ __
(Subtract the third number from the first number.)
Note: After GA-4.0, the trail splits, stay on the paved portion to the left.

(C) After passing GA-4.1 there is a yellow sign above your head:
__ __ ft. __ in.
(Add the "three" "individual" numbers together, and multiply the answer by 3.)
Note: After GA-4.6, you turn left to begin the James River (J.R.) Trail.

(D) Between JR -.2 and JR - .3 there is a yellow Sign with a picture of a useable object. Using the alphabet, as follows, compare letters to numbers:
A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, F=6, G=7, H=8, I=9, J=10, etc. (Multiply the first letter of the object by 7.)

You now have everything you need to find the cache. Finish the James River Trail. It will take you to a road running alongside the Interstate. You will then turn left on Gasconade, and can just follow the green Bike Trail Signs. The signs will lead you back to Lone Pine where you crossed that road before. The trail picks up "immediately" to your right when you get to Lone Pine. The cache is on the trail on the way back to your car.

To find the coordinates for the cache, input your answers in the following:

N 37 degrees 0C.B75 W 093 degrees D.A37

From experience in doing this type of cache, I suggest you write down all of the numbers at each clue sight in case you figured the clue wrong. You don't want to have to ride back to the clues to recheck them. PLEASE NOTE: If the cache doesn't seem to slide easily back into it's hiding place, it might have a rock under it, which makes it next to impossible to get it back out again. If you have to push to get it in, then pull it out and try again....it should slide in easily!!!

I received permission for hiding this cache from the City of Springfield.
