Geocache Description:

From Hwy 53, exit onto Hwy 37. Go left on 37(Fayal Rd) about 3 blks to parking lot. Mostly flat, paved trail-some elevation. I WILL DELETE ANY SPOILERS(PICTURES OR LOGS) THAT INDICATE WHERE THE CONTAINER IS LOCATED.

Snow depth and location may prevent winter access to this cache,

Cache container is a plastic camo taped jar containing a logbook and pencils/sharpener. There is room for a small TBUG. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OR LIGHTERS IN THE CONTAINERS

THE MESABI TRAIL

“Mesabi” in the Ojibwa language means “Sleeping Giant.” For 132 miles, between the cities of Ely and Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the Mesabi Trail runs through 25 communities. By the end of 2005, 92 miles of the trail will be paved. When finished, it will be one of the longest paved trails in the USA.

More information about the trail can be found here: http://www.mesabitrail.com/

The cache is located at the trailhead in Eveleth, Minnesota near a pretty pond, which will take less than half an hour to walk. The trail is wheelchair accessible, but help would be needed to find remove the cache container. You will be able to walk on a floating bridge, and in the summer, see a large floating bobber and a fountain. Enjoy. I have driven by this pond so many times that I finally decided it needed a cache.
