Geocache Description:

The cache is a small container, only large enough for a log book and a few smaller trade items. Due to tree cover, GPSr reception will be jumpy. The cache is within the cemetery plot fence.
FYI: as you are driving to the site, when you get withing a tenth of a mile---"slow down" or you will drive right past it. You can't see it from the road!

DRY CREEK CEMETERY: This cemetery plot is probably the tiniest in the county. It consisting of only two visible headstones: one stone, one wood. The one readable stone is broken, and is that of a child: born in 1871 and died in 1872 (see photos). The plot lies right next to the road and is surrounded by a poorly maintained barbed wire fence.

PIONEER CEMETERY SERIES: This is one in a series of caches hidden in or near old cemeteries. Some of the cemeteries have been abandoned, while others are still in use today. These cemeteries all have burials dating back to the 1880’s or before. As a “Daughter of the Pioneers of Washington” and a member of the “Sons and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers”, I have a special interest in the history of our valley and the Pacific Northwest.
